Notification for a

Filter Change

The filter industry does not want you to know this, but changing filters based on time is a waste.

Seasons, outdoor particulates like pollen, pollution, Sahara dust, and wildfires impact air quality, and indoor pollutants* like pets, VOC’s and pandemics create variables that make time-based filter changes a thing of the past.

EngineerAlly monitors the actual static pressure across the filter which is the only way to know when to change the filter. Too soon, and you sacrifice air quality and fill our landfills with a perfectly good filter. Too late, you are wasting energy and could cause HVAC system damage.

We can even have a filter delivered directly from your notification text/email with the click of a button.

Indoor Air and Outdoor Air

Since we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors, air quality is critical to our health. According to the EPA, there are three ways to approach the problem:

  • Source Control
  • Ventilation
  • Air cleaners (Filters)

At EngineerAlly we monitor the Air Quality Index (source) where you live and work and can notify you when to increase or decrease your ventilation based on your individual preferences (and pets!), in addition to providing notification if you should increase the quality of your air filters.

Notification for

System Malfunction

Most of the time when HVAC units break, it’s usually not very convenient. That’s why we monitor the HVAC system functionality to provide real-time, smart alerting to let you know there is an issue - before a complete breakdown, components are damaged, and you incur high energy bills:

  • System anomalies when using excessive cooling or heating
  • Compressor short cycling
  • Fan or a Thermostat malfunction
